I had a hard time deciding what to do with this piece of wood.  I really liked the rough cut appearance of it, but the color and figure of the wood underneath was absolutely gorgeous.  So, I went with both. I wish I had a better camera that could really bring out the character of this wood- it is unbelieveable.  The bottle is reclaimed as well.  This sconce looks great with flowers or LED lighys in it.  The bottle is held on by a leather strap.  It is finished with Danish oil.

Reclaimed Wood Wall Sconce

This set of wall sconces is made from an old pallet and recycled bottles.  I did a minimal amount of milling so as not to lose the natural patina and aged texture of the pallet. The bottles are held on by leather straps. These sconces look great with flowers or LED lights in them.

Curly Maple Candle Runner

This set of wall sconces is made from some of the most incredible curly maple I have seen.  It has an extremely tight curl which makes the chatoyance just roll with the light.  In addition to the beautifully tight curl, it also a very intersting figure as well.  The bottles are recycled from the local recycling center.  The bottles are held on with strips of leather.  These wall sconces look great with flowers or LED lights.  They are finished with several coats of Danish oil and then rubbed with wax.

Curly Maple Wall Sconces

This serving tray is made from one solid piece of curly maple. It seems each time I make something from curly maple it is more spectacularly figured than the last piece. This one definitely out does most of the pieces of curly maple I have used before.  It has cherry feet with cherry dowels.  It is sanded satin smooth and finished with danish oil and rubbed wax.

Curly Maple Serving Tray
Spalted Maple Centerpiece Tray

This piece is made out of a cast off cutting from the side of a spalted maple tree.  I carved out the inside of the tray as well as hand holds on each end.  This is a beautiful piece of spalted maple that otherwise would have been used for fire wood.  It is finished with danish oil.

Dimensions: 18"L x 9"W x 2"H

This tea light candle runner has a rich walnut base and a top made of

spalted maple.  Maple becomes

spalted when a particular fungus infects the tree.  While unpleasant

and deadly for the tree, the effect makes for some beautiful and unique works of art.  This piece is finished with Danish oil and polished with a rubbed wax.

Walnut and Spalted Maple Candle Rrunner
Wormy Chestnut Candle Runner

This candle runner is made from a reclaimed wormy chestnut board.  I did very little milling on the central runner to preserve the weathered look of the board. The feet on either end are made from the same piece of wood as the runner.  It is finished with a thin coat of lacquer; just enough to give it a seal without altering the color of the wood.

This charming set of three tea light holders is made from a reclaimed barn beam.  They are finished with a light coat of lacquer, not enough to lose the warmth of the natural weathered patina of the wood.  They are wrapped with sisal twine.

Curly Maple Tablet Stand
Live Edge Curly Cherry Cheesboard

This beautiful curly cherry did all the work for me.  There was nothing I needed to do to bring out the beauty of it.  It is made from one solid piece of cherry and is finished with several coats of butcher block oil to seal it and make it foodsafe.  Believe it or not, this incredible piece of wood was a cast-off destined for the burn pile.

Dimensions: 8" W x 16" L x 7/8" H
